The Glekas Family

Westport, Connecticut

The Glekas family portrait session
  • Location Westport, Connecticut
  • Season Late Autumn
  • Mood Relaxed, Natural, Timeless

Sunday mornings are some of my favorite times to photograph families. Everything feels a little slower, a little more relaxed—and that calm always shows in the images.

The Glekas family chose a quiet morning in Westport for their portrait session, and it turned into exactly the kind of shoot I love most: natural, unforced, and full of genuine moments. We photographed portraits of all four kids individually, giving each of them space to be themselves, before bringing everyone together with Nikki and Jimmy.

“The best family portraits happen when everyone forgets the camera is there.”

There was laughter, a little chaos (as there always is with four kids), and plenty of moments in between that felt honest and real. Nothing was rushed, nothing felt posed—just a family being together.

One of the most meaningful parts of this session came later, when I received their Christmas card and saw my images used to tell their family’s story. That’s always the goal—to create photographs that live beyond the screen.
